How much does a business website cost in 2026? The short answer
At SWAGG, a business website costs from €99 for a single page to €1,290 for a ten-page site, at a fixed, final price. For most service businesses the sensible starting point is the five-page site with a custom design: €790, ready in 10 business days. On top of that you pay for your domain and, if you'd like us to host and look after the site, a care plan from €39/mo.
The rest of this guide explains what pushes the price up or down, what you keep paying after launch, and how to compare quotes, so you know the full cost upfront rather than just the first invoice.
And a website is still not a given. According to Eurostat, 79% of EU businesses with ten or more staff had one in 2025, which leaves roughly one in five without. A clear, fast site still sets you apart in plenty of sectors.
What drives the cost of a business website
Price follows the work involved, not how "pretty" the result looks. Five things matter most.
How many pages you need
Every page means design, content and testing on phones and desktops. Five pages (say Home, Services, About, Work and Contact) cover a business with a clear offer. If you sell several services, give each one its own page so it can be found on Google in its own right. With us, an extra page is €79.
Template or custom design
An adapted template is quicker and cheaper; a custom design is built around your brand and your customers. Our Start Page (€99) uses an adapted SWAGG template, while the five- and ten-page sites are designed from scratch. Scroll animations and a showcase film, as on the cinematic premium site (€990), take extra time, and therefore extra budget.
Copy and photos
This is the part that's easiest to put off. Good copy tells visitors within seconds what you do and who it's for; copy written the night before launch rarely sells. Write it yourself, or let us handle it with Website copywriting (€290), covering up to five pages in your brand's voice. On a landing page, the copy is already included.
Extra features
A contact form comes as standard. Everything else is optional:
- online bookings on the site: €190
- a blog you can edit yourself: €190
- an extra language, for up to ten pages: €149
- the Meta pixel, CAPI, Google Analytics 4 and the events that matter, verified for ads: Tracking setup, €190
Brand identity
Without a settled logo, colours and fonts, the design has nothing solid to build on. If you don't have them yet, sort them out first with our branding and logo design service: Logo Express is €190, and Identity Start, with a logo, colours, fonts and ten social media templates, is €490.

Selling one offer, or sending ad traffic to a single page? A sales landing page usually does that job better than a full site. For a closer look at what each website option includes, see our business website design page.
The costs people forget
Most surprises turn up after the website has been paid for. Budget separately for:
- Your domain. A yearly fee paid to a registrar; the price depends on the extension (.com, .eu, .co.uk and so on) and on who you buy it from. Register it in your company's name, not your developer's.
- Hosting and updates. Every site needs hosting, an SSL certificate, backups and someone keeping it up to date.
- Email on your domain. An address like name@yourcompany.com is paid to your email provider, usually per user.
- Privacy and cookie notices. If your site collects data through a form or uses advertising cookies, you'll need a privacy notice and a cookie policy. The wording is your company's responsibility, so have a lawyer check it.
- Changes after launch. Without a maintenance plan, changes are billed by the hour, at the rate in our price list. Care Pro and Care Max include hours every month.
- Advertising. Your Meta or Google ad budget goes straight to the platform, separately from the site.
What a website costs to run each month
The website is yours. We hand the code over to your own repository, or host it for you, fully managed. If we host it, there are three monthly plans, with no minimum term and 30 days' notice:
- Care Start, €39/mo: hosting, SSL, daily backups, updates and monitoring.
- Care Pro, €99/mo: everything in Start, plus two hours of changes a month and a monthly report.
- Care Max, €199/mo: everything in Pro, plus five hours of changes and priority.
To work out your real first-year cost, add up three things: the build (for example €790 for five pages), twelve months of your chosen plan, and whatever you pay suppliers directly, such as the domain and email. Starting a business from scratch? The Launch Pack (€1,290) already includes the first three months of Care Start; after that, the plan is optional.
DIY builder, freelancer, agency or fixed-price studio?
There's no single right answer. It depends on how much time you have, how much of your sales depend on the site, and how much risk you're comfortable with.
A website builder such as Wix
Quick to start, and Wix even has a free plan. To remove Wix branding, though, you need a paid plan, and the price varies by country. Design, copy, SEO and the hours it all takes stay with you. A good choice for testing an idea or for a personal project.
A freelancer
This can work very well if you find someone reliable and available. Ask upfront who fixes things if the site breaks a year from now, whose name the hosting account is in, and whether you get the code.
An agency
You get a full team and, usually, a process with several steps before you see a quote. Make sure the quote spells out what's included, the deadline, and what changes along the way will cost.
A fixed-price studio
This is how we work at SWAGG: prices are public, the proposal is in writing, and you see the design before we write a line of code. We build on Next.js, so pages are fast and there are no plugins to keep patching. The trade-off worth knowing: content changes are usually made by us, apart from the blog, which you can edit yourself.
How to compare website quotes
Before you compare prices, compare what you get for them. Six questions that quickly show whether a quote is complete:
- Which pages are included, and who writes the copy?
- What's the delivery date, and is it in writing?
- Whose name is the domain in, and who owns the code after launch?
- What does hosting cost, and what does a change cost after launch?
- What happens if you don't like the design?
- How quickly does it load on a phone? Google's Core Web Vitals guidance says the main content should appear within 2.5 seconds of the page starting to load.
One simple rule: be wary of anyone who guarantees you the top spot on Google. Google's own SEO guidance states that no one can guarantee a number one ranking. A technically sound site helps you get found; the rest comes down to content and time.
Getting an exact price for your website
The quickest route is our online quote builder: pick an option and any extras, and you get a written proposal on the spot, with scope, deadline and price. Reserve within 24 hours of the proposal and you get 5–20% off, depending on the order value; ready-made packs are already priced as bundles. The reservation fee is €99, comes off your deposit and is refundable within three days.
The deposit is half the project, with the rest due on delivery; small projects such as the Start Page are paid in full upfront. You see the design before any code, and if you don't like the first version, we refund your deposit. While we build, you can follow progress on a preview link. Prefer to talk first?
